HTTrack- A Website Copier, is a very simple tool to use. Just go through the step by step procedure as under:
Step 1: To Download HTTrack Tool: Click Here OR Go to Google and Search for it, First Link you will get of HTTrack. Go to Download Page and download this freeware tool as per your OS, as shown in Image given below:
Step 2: Now, Open this tool and Click on Next Button to Start a new project in this.
Step 3: In the next window, Enter the “Name of the Project” and “Project Category”. Also, Select the Path where you want to save the website data. Click on Next.
Step 4: In next window, in “Action” Field, select “Download Web site(s)”, as we want to download a fresh website. If you want to update the already downloaded website select “Update Existing Download”. Refer GIF Image Part-1 for this heading as under, further steps is in Part-2 is given below:
Step 5: On the same window, Now, Click on “Add URL”, Enter the URL of the website, that you want to download and click on “OK” button.
Step 6: On the same window, go to “set options” button, a New window will open, “Deselect” the checkbox of “Use proxy to FTP transfer”, and click on “OK”. Part-2 of above gif Image is as under:
Step 7: Now, click on Next Button and click on “Finish” button on the next window. The downloading of the website will start. In this, if any file takes a long time, then you can also SKIP it. It will take time according to the Size of the website and the speed of the Internet connection.
Step 8: When complete website will downloaded, click on “Browse Mirrored Website” to view that website offline as you are viewing it over the Internet connection. as shown in Image no. 16 in above GIF Image. You may notice the URL in Address bar of the browser, the website link is referring to the path where you have saved it.
3. How to Access/Browse Downloaded Website
Now, you have downloaded the complete website and accessed the same through HTTrack tool. But every time you don’t need to open HTTrack Tool to Browse/Access downloaded website. So let’s see the steps to access the website otherwise:
Step 1: Go to the destination folder, where you have saved the downloaded website. Like in this case, Our Destination Folder, where we downloaded complete website is “C:/My Web Sites”.
Step 2: In this folder, you will get a file “Index.html”, just open this file with any of the browsers.
Step 3: In the Browser, Click on “test” which is the “Project Name”. That’s all, You will now access the complete website as you are accessing it Online, over an Internet connection. Interlinking of the websites also works well.
You can access/browse all the files, like Image, Video, Audio etc., which are uploaded to that website. If the reference of other website is given, then it will not be visible to you.
4. How to Delete Downloaded Website Using “HTTrack”
If you have downloaded many websites in a single folder and want to delete any one of them. Then it becomes tedious to get to know which folder and files related to that website.
So, in this case, if you want to delete any particular website, Open HTTrack Tool –> Go to “File Tab” —> Go to “Delete” —> Select file with the name of the project with “.whtt” extension like: “Project_name.whtt”, in this case, “test.whtt”, open it. Now a pop-up box will open, that will ask you to delete this project, just click on “OK”. That’s Done. All the data only related to this particular will be deleted. Also, refer below GIF Image.
